LAGOON!!!!!

My side of the family decided to go to Lagoon together for some end of summer fun. It has been YEARS since I have gone to Lagoon with my siblings. I am glad everyone wanted to go! My boys didn't understand what Lagoon was all about. Truth be told I was more excited then them to go. During the SL County Fair they were really disappointed that I wouldn't buy them ride tickets. They didn't understand that they would be going somewhere that they could ride as many times as they wanted! When we got there their faces lit up and they were so excited! It was so cute.

After dinner we decided to go on Rattle Snake Rapids. The line wasn't that long and we soon descovered why. You get drenched and at 8 o'clock at night it can be a little chilly after! Some how Me, Tonya, and Conner ended up drenched the most. I really hate the feeling of wet levi's.

Left: Ethan riding Puff the little rollercoaster. He wasn't much for the "Scary" rides.
Right: Doesn't Garrison look TERRIFIED to have Cassidy drive!
He really is such the dare devil and was mad he couldn't go on the BIG rides.

The kids loved the bumper cars cause they could crash like Dad but the ride they talk about the most is the helicopters and planes. They loved being able to control going up and down. It helped that their was NO line and they could keep going around and around!
Brady loved taking Josie and the older kids on the big rides. I am sure he acted just as much as a kid as they did. Probably more. When Sharmon, Tonya, and I told the kids that night that Brady and Shane were going with them and that they were in charge as the responsible adults, we quickly took that statement back and put the kids in charge of them! Safer that way I am sure!

Brady and I pulled the trailer up to sleep in and make dinner for everyone! It turned out to be great and I would recommend it to anyone. Not only did we all save money on meals, it was great to come back and relax and gain a second wind. It was also great not to have to drive home after playing so hard all day. We did have a bit of excitement at the trailer while preparing dinner, Tonya and I were cutting up veggies for a salad when she cut her finger with a knife. I quickly got her a bandaid and we went on cutting. Not even 5 min. later, I was trying to get the pit out of the avacodo and stabbed my hand between my thumb and pointer finger. I looked down and could tell it was bad. I ran to the sink, where Sharmon held my hand under the water while I cussed and screamed. (Sorry children for the swear words. I did apologize after every one though) It hurt so bad my hand went a little purple, and my thumb numb; I wanted to go the ER but nobody wanted to take me. I thought it needed stitches but everybody wanted to use up the rest of their all day ride pass it was just getting cool ( To tell the truth so did I). So Shane got his first aid kit from the car, and Sharmon bandaged me up and we finished the night having a BLAST!

Fast forward to Monday (No since in paying a ER copay. It felt fine) I went to the clinic to get a Tetnus shot. She reopened the wound OUCH and said I needed stitches but it was to late. She told me I had cut the nerve and might not ever get feeling back. She also got after me for not having it looked at. (Guess she doesn't know how expensive an all day ride pass is) She closed it back up with Terry Strips gave me my shot and told me to leave it alone if the strips fell off and let the air get to it. Well the strips didn't even make it home before they had fallen off, and by the next morning it was red and throbbing. Sharmon bandaged me again for the next few days and by today it is fine! Still no feeling in my thumb though.

We made great memories for our family and I even have the scare to prove it!

I wanna be like you!

Ever since the Demolition Derby Brady has been the all time coolest person in his son's eyes! I think it is the cutest thing ever. They want to eat and drink the same as him, talk like him, shadow him, do EVERYTHING he does. They would be him if they could. I really do love the fact that they are loving him so much. They want to be with him and wait for him to get home everyday so they can follow him around. This is nice because lets face it, they are not whining at my heels complaining they are bored and bug him instead of me!!! Garrison has decided to take this to the next level and wants to wear what Dad would wear and has even found a way to look more like him..........

What do you think about his mustache and goatee? He thinks he is the spitting image of his Dad and has worn it around for about 2 days now! Gotta love it!!!

Derby Action the complete story! Or at least what I have time to tell!

I know you are all dying to find out what happened at the derby on Friday! Well if you weren't there you missed an awesome show! But lets start at the beginning:

For approx. 8 months, Brady has been working on a car so generously donated to him by a friend.( Thanks Ryan we will get even later.) He has spent countless hours making sure that it ran perfect, making his own gas tank, welding doors, removing glass, and probably giving it a daily pep talks for the "Big Game" they were about to enter. To say the least, this car has had more quality one on one time with Brady than I have. But as my Dad says "Leave him alone and let him enjoy his hobby." I did for the most part! To be honest I was just as nervous for the big day as he was. Others would constantly remind me of the danger, which was always in the back of my mind, but I was more nervous that maybe I was a bad luck charm and history would repeat itself and his car wouldn't run or he would get stuck and all his work would have been for nothing.
I left for SL a few days earlier for DR. appointments for the kids, and would call nightly to make sure all was going well. On Thursday night Brady brought the car, and on Friday started making the final preparations. This included painting the car which the boys had been looking forward to since this whole project started! So we put on painting shirts and let them dive in! They painted EVERY nook and cranny and would have painted the interior if we had let them! Brady made racing pin stripes and I did the lettering. At least the car looked good! Brady's brother Wade came to help give the car a little tune up. They worked on the car and sent me for some Carburetor cleaner. By the time I had gotten back somehow they had blown the motor and the sick feeling in my stomach returned when Brady said "I don't think it will run. I will have to change out the motor and their is not time." I felt TERRIBLE, and said something I think I will regret, Brady wished he had gotten it on tape for future evidence. I said "You have to run I will be disappointed if you don't." Now what he doesn't understand is that I didn't want to bring the car home to wait another year with it decorating my back yard. He had gone to all this work and now wasn't able to reap the reward. With that in mind he decided to run the derby for as long as his car would last!!
Fast forward to Friday night, I am enjoying myself at the derby of course watching the cars but even more than that I was enjoying watching all the drunk rednecks, make complete fools at of themselves. Just imagine a girl in 6" high heels with at LEAST 3 beers down and on her 4th trying to climb down the bleachers. HILARIOUS! Brady was in the 3rd heat and to my surprise his car made it into the arena!! He moved rather slow and I could tell his car was overheating but he played it smart and WON HIS HEAT!!!!! The only problem for me was that now I had to sit and worry for the final.
Wade came to bail Brady out and help him in the pits. His sponsor didn't have a pit crew for him and he couldn't have done it alone. (Thanks Wade, and Thanks Sara. I owe you BIG time) They got the car ready and Brady drove in the final with a car running much better!
I don't know if it was the adrenaline or a minor lap in judgement but during the final Brady decided to go for a hard hit back to back with another car. It was so hard it pushed the back of the wagon all the way up to the back tires in ONE hit. A crowd pleaser, a wife's heart attack. He was ok but it ended up being his last hit because their was too much metal around the tires to move.
Thus ended the SL Derby for this year. Brady was pleased to have done so good he is talking about next year. Just when I thought I had him convinced to give it up for a while:( Oh well, as long as he doesn't oppose any hobbies I might take up. I will have to think of a good one!!!

Water Logged? Not US!!!!!

We miss Bear Lake so much. We want to go back. We have even talked about moving there if a job opened for Brady! I just don't know if I could handle the winters. Here are some of the highlights of our fun in the water!!!!

Beach Bums! They only had about 10ft by 40ft of sand to play on really not all that much especially with everyone there.

Garrison LOVES the banana. He thought it was awesome that he was big enough to ride!

We loved playing in the waves. Ethan did a really good job of

swimming in them! I on the other hand got a little sea sick:(

Ethan and Garrison on the boat! They called it a speed boat cause
it went "so fast."

Dad tried to get up on the water ski's for Ethan one day.

He was so tired from playing in the water all day and never really
made it up.

The banana riders!!!! I think that it might of needed more air?

Hold on Brady and don't fall off!

We convinced Ethan to learn to Boogie Board! He was scared to death and it took some bribery to get him to try! I think Dad and Grandpa's arms were tired from pulling him back and forth while he got a feel for the board.

The boys had so much fun with their cousins. They are definitely making memories together.

Grandpa had to show Ethan how water skiing was done and he got up on his first try. Ethan thinks he is awesome and the coolest Grandpa EVER!

Ethan on the Boogie Board!!!! No tears even!!!!!!!

We are sad to see our vacation over for the year and we have started the count down for next year!!!!!! We have more memories to make and fun to have!!!!

Boys and Their Toys

Every morning before the wind started to blow hard, all the "boys"
headed down to the beach to fly
airplanes. Brady had just received
his for Fathers Day and was dying
to try his piloting skills. He did
pretty good for his first time of flying
no major crashes!!!
I had bought the boys some styrofoam
airplanes so they could join in on the fun.
They flew those until I thought their arms
would fall off.
The highlight for the kids was watching
Grandpa's plane. He had bombs and
para-troopers that he could drop and

the kids could take off down the beach to retrieve!
After the thrill of the fake bombs and paratroopers didn't excite the men anymore they tried lighting bottle rockets that they had mounted to the plane to see if they
would shoot out. I guess boys will
be boys no matter what the age!!!

We're Melting

Yesterday I noticed that the air conditioner wasn't turning off very much during the day. I asked Brady to look at it and he found that the filter was full and made me turn off the air till tomorrow when I can get a new filter and install it. In the mean while it is has been 85 degrees INSIDE my house today. I will be heading to the store first thing in the morning so I won't have to melt tomorrow.
