When Life give you sugar for snow.......

You still have to figure out how to make a snowman!!!!!

Garrison has been dying to make a snowman from the snowman kit they got for Christmas. We finally got a heavy wet snow last week and I promised I would help him build a snowman. I didn't calculate my busy schedule and the fact that it gets dark around 5 into my promise. So the snow came in the middle of the week and I finally got a chance on Saturday to go and help. Now I know it WAS good packing snow when it fell because snowmen, and forts were popping up all over the town and I thought this would be easy. WRONG. The snow had turned to sugar. It would NOT pack. Garrison was ticked at me and told me I had better figure out how to make it work.

Using my most convincing enthusiastic voice I came up with this first............

I stomped out 3 circles like a snowman, placed the carrot, coal, ect on and told him it was for the airplanes to enjoy!!!!!! I was proud of my creative thought, he however liked this for about 2 seconds, and then figured out that I had tricked him. So we set off the figure out how to make a standing snowman.

We ventured to the front yard where I saw the pile of snow from having our driveway cleared from the neighbors tractor. There on the top were 3 chunks of frozen ice more than snow, that I rolled over into the front yard and stacked on top of each other to create a snowman!!!!! Go Me!!! Mom saved the day. We VERY carefully put the hat, scarf, carrot, coal etc.... onto the snow man and Garrison was SOOOO pleased.

I have learned my lesson and next time we will go out while it is snowing!!!

Buddies

Garrison is always excited when he gets to visit HIS cousin"Baby" Korver! He could care less about what everyone else is doing and would rather spend his entire time playing with Korver. He will fetch EVERY baby toy we have if I would let him and loves to keep him entertained. Sometimes I think Korver would rather be left alone; then we catch moments like this...........

And you can't help cut think of what great buddies and cousins they are and hope they will be for the rest of their lives!!!!

Garrison made me print out this picture and he has it next to his bed. Who would have guessed he would take to babies and love them as much as he does. Inside that rough and tough little boy their is a softy!!!

A Wii bit of fun!!

Wii: $200.00

Dinner: $50.00

Ibprofen for sore muscles: $3.00

Watching your inlaws Wii bowl for the 1st time: Priceless!

DISCLAIMER: By participating in the activities of last night, you agreed to the terms and conditions of allowing me to post such memories on the blog!!! (I am sure I told you this when we started right?) I however do not agree to any future activities that would embarrass me in any way! Thanks for playing! Come again!

We had my in-laws, Wade, Sara, and Korver over yesterday and challenged them to a Wii game night. We have only had the Wii since Christmas, and it has quickly become one of our favorite indoor activities. What could be better than having family over to play with you!? We started off with Mario Bros, followed by golf, tennis, bowling, and my personal favorite of the night, boxing! We convinced my in-laws to play! I am sure we made it look simple enough? After a few dropped bowling balls, golf balls hit WAY to hard, and sweat from boxing, 4 hours later I think they were addicted.

Practice up family. We challenge you again!

I didn't get a picture, but the last game of bowling I got 6 strikes in a row. Yet somehow I still don't have a Pro status and Brady does. UNFAIR.

Not bad scores for 1st timers.
Ethan kept asking Grandma
and Grandpa if they wanted
him to show them how it
was done. It was drivning him
nuts to watch them learn to play.

Bowling!

I promise next time not to get out the camera. Unless we could win thousands off of
America's Funiest Video!

Finally!

I found the camera!!! I didn't take as many pictures as I thought I did. Oh well live and learn.
Remember to turn off the music in the player before watching the slide show! Enjoy!!!

"Perfect Brownies"

My kids have been begging me to make brownies since Christmas with our new "Perfect Brownie" making kit. So today I decided for our FHE treat we would use this wonderful little kit and make some delicious brownies. To make it even more special and a learning math activity I decided to make them from scratch. We measured, mixed, dumped, mixed, tasted, mixed all while anticipating the "Perfect Brownies!"

I followed the directions to the letter and we put everything in the pan to bake!!! They smelled WONDERFUL! The boys were all excited to taste the "Perfect Brownies" warm from the oven.

Garrison kept peeking through the oven window and checking the "Perfect Brownies" every so often. When the time was up he was so excited he could hardly stand it. His face quickly turned to horror when I opened the oven door and we took a good look at our "Perfect Brownies"........

He was so mad. He stared at the pan, then at the box and finally looked at me with those sad little eyes. This made me want to cry, and I think he could sense it. He tried to re-assure me by saying
"At least they still SMELL like "Perfect Brownies!" with a cute little smile that made me melt.
I think next time we will consult Betty Crocker and use her recipe from the box next time!
So much for the "Perfect Brownies" Better luck next time.

Nelda- This ones for you!

I have been told that I needed to update my blog with Christmas pictures for family that couldn't be here to see. The problem has been that I can't find the digital camera with the pictures and my new video/photo camera that I got for Christmas has been kicking my butt with downloading new software. Somehow I managed to get a few pictures so this will have to do until I find the other camera.
On Christmas Day we bundled up and headed over to my sisters house to do some sledding. We love spending time with family especially when we are doing something different. The boys were in heaven and they didn't seem to mind going up and the hill after the fast ride down! Brady even surprised me with his snowboarding abilities as he sailed down the hill feet down. I secretly was excited before he went down, thinking I would be making thousands of dollars off of America's Funniest Video's by catching it on my new camera but was disappointed yet happy because not only did he make it but he did it in one piece and no ER visit was needed. We headed back home after some hot chocolate and soup for some much needed rest!!!!
More Pictures to come soon!!!
